Plan Your Journey — Madinah & Makkah - Rihlah Saudi
START PLANNING

Plan your journey

Tell us who’s travelling and what you’d like to see — we’ll design a private journey around it.

HOW IT WORKS

From first message to arrival

01

Tell us the shape

Who is travelling, roughly when, and whether you lean towards Madinah, Makkah or both. Nothing needs to be final.

02

We design it

We come back with ideas and a shape for the journey, then refine it with you until it fits.

03

We handle the rest

Visas and permits through licensed operators, transfers, accommodation, guides and the day-to-day arrangements.

Every Rihlah journey is private and made to fit. Share your dates, your group and your interests, and we’ll design an itinerary around them — spiritual, cultural, or both.

From there we handle the arrangements and the guiding, so you can travel with understanding and ease.

How planning a journey works

Every Rihlah journey begins with a conversation, not a fixed package. You tell us who is travelling, roughly when, and what you hope to experience and understand; we come back with ideas and a shape for the journey; and together we refine it until it fits. Because everything is private and made to measure, there is no template to squeeze into — the itinerary is built around you from the start.

What to tell us

The more we know, the better we can shape things, but nothing needs to be final at this stage. It helps to know whether your journey leans towards the journey to Makkah and Madinah — Umrah, ziyarah and the Seerah — or the Madinah journeys of heritage and landscape, or a blend of both. It also helps to know your approximate dates, how many are travelling and whether children are included, and whether you would like learning — Arabic, the Seerah, history or culture — woven in. If you are unsure, that is perfectly fine; part of our job is to help you decide.

When to travel

For cultural journeys, the most comfortable months run from roughly October to March, when the days are mild across most of the country. For Umrah, timing shapes the experience: Ramadan carries immense reward but the greatest crowds and cost, while the quieter months after Hajj can be more spacious. We will advise on the best window for what you have in mind, and plan around the season you travel.

How long to allow

There is no single right length. A focused Umrah with time in both holy cities can be done in a week; a journey through Madinah with time for its historic sites and a few of its experiences sits comfortably in seven to ten days; and a fortnight allows a fuller route, or a slower pace with more learning built in. We will suggest a length that suits your priorities rather than stretching or cramming your days.

Umrah, arranged correctly

If your journey includes Umrah or Hajj, the arrangements are handled with care. Rihlah works in partnership with operators licensed by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, through the official Nusuk platform, so that the visa, permits and logistics are in order. For a plain-language overview of how the current system works, our guide to Umrah visas and Nusuk permits is a good place to start. Please always confirm the latest requirements through official channels before you travel.

For non-Muslim travellers

The Madinah journeys path is open to everyone, and by design it never includes restricted sites — Makkah and the sacred precinct of Madinah are not part of it. Everything else, from the deserts and heritage sites to the cities and the coast, is open to all travellers. If your group is mixed, we can shape a journey that works for everyone.

What happens after you enquire

Once you send the form below, we will be in touch to talk through your ideas and answer your questions. From there we shape a proposed journey, refine it with you, and handle the arrangements. There is no obligation in making an enquiry — it is simply the first step in a conversation, and the beginning of the journey itself.

Any questions before you start

If you are weighing up whether Saudi Arabia is right for you, what a journey might cost, or how the practicalities work, simply ask — there is no wrong question. We would far rather help you plan something that genuinely fits than sell you a package that does not. Use the form below to tell us a little about the journey you have in mind, and we will reply personally to help you plan.

Frequently asked questions

A few things travellers often want to know before they enquire — and if your question is not here, simply ask.

Do I need to have everything decided?

Not at all. Many people come to us with only a rough idea — a season, a length, a sense of whether they lean spiritual or cultural — and we help shape the rest. Part of what we do is turn a vague wish into a clear, well-planned journey.

Can Muslim and non-Muslim travellers go together?

Yes, with care. The Madinah journeys is open to everyone, and where a group is mixed we design a journey that works for all — respecting that Makkah and the sacred precinct of Madinah are for Muslims, while the rest of the country is open to all.

Is it suitable for families?

Very much so. We plan family journeys at a gentle pace, with explanations pitched for younger travellers, and logistics arranged so parents can relax. Families are among the travellers who get the most from what we do.

How far ahead should I plan?

The earlier the better, particularly for Umrah, where the Nusuk permit system and popular seasons reward advance planning. That said, we will always do our best to help, whatever your timeframe.

We are here to help

Planning a journey to an unfamiliar country can feel daunting, but it need not be — that is precisely what we are here for. From the first message to the final day of your trip, our aim is to make the process clear, personal and reassuring, so that all you need to focus on is the journey itself. If anything at all is unclear, ask; no question is too small, and we would always rather you travelled with confidence.

When you are ready, send us a note using the form above, and we will reply personally to begin shaping your journey.
